BAYSIDE CROSS COUNTRY

Under 11 Race Start

“Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it's all about."

ENTRY & REGISTRATION - 2018 season

How do we become a Bayside Cross Country season member?

via this link:   Entry Portal for the 2018 Season

Little Athletes must be a registered and financial member with LAVic prior to completing this entry form.

How do we enter for the 2018 Cross Country season if we are not a current LAVic registered athlete?

You must first register with LAVic as a winter only athlete - Cross country season registration for new members costs $55.   Once you have registered and are a financial member of LAVic you can enter the Bayside XC season

Do I need to become a season member or can I just run as a casual member?

You can do either but entering for the season is strongly recommended.    Casual runners in the U6 - U16 age groups must still be members of LAVic for the 2017/2018 season.    Regular runners will find it more cost effective to sign up for the season, plus you need to be a season member to receive a seed time for seeded event and to qualify for awards.

How much do we pay?

Fees for 2018 are $40 for the season.  This is all you need to pay if you are a registered with LAVic, i.e. if you did Little Athletics over the summer.  If you haven’t registered with LAVic then an additional fee of $55 is payable to LAVic to register with them for the winter cross country season.

Casual runners pay $5 per race (pay on the day at the start/finish area).

How do I know what age group my child is in?

The age groups are the same as for the summer season.  Use the Little Athletics Victoria Age Group Calculator to check if you are uncertain.

Do parents have duties?

As cross country is run by volunteers, parents are required to assist by acting as a course or timing marshall twice during the season.  It just means you are out on the course ensuring athletes go the right way and receive a time  - simple, but very helpful!   An average of 6 parents will assist with the running of the meet each Saturday.  Duties will be allocated by Centre Representatives this season. On your duty day, you will be given full instructions and walked out to your checkpoint shortly before the first race commences.
